CONCEPT DESIGN
Turn Your Idea into a Production-Ready Design
Every great part starts as an idea: a sketch on a notepad, a photo of a broken bracket, or a problem on the shop floor that needs solving. Our Concept Design service turns that starting point into an accurate, fully dimensioned 3D CAD model engineered specifically for 3D printing, so your part is strong, functional and cost-effective from the very first print.

What Is Concept Design?
Concept design is the engineering step between "I have an idea" and "I have a part." We learn what the part needs to do, where it will be used and what it has to survive, then build a 3D model around those requirements.
Because we design specifically for additive manufacturing, we account for details a general CAD drafter can miss: print orientation, layer strength, wall thickness, support material, clearances for mating parts and the right places for threaded inserts. The result is a design that prints well, performs well and doesn't waste material or money.
What Concept Design Is Good For
You have an idea but no CAD model
Bring a sketch, a drawing, photos or even a verbal description. We will turn it into an accurate 3D model you can print, test and build on.
You need to replace a broken or hard-to-find part
Send the original part or photos with key measurements, and we will model a replacement, often stronger than the original.
Your existing design isn't made for 3D printing
Models designed for machining or injection molding usually need changes to print well. We adapt them for strength, accuracy and lower print cost.
You need a custom tool for a specific job
Jigs, fixtures, holders and gauges designed around your exact part, machine or process.
You want to improve a part you already have
Reduce weight, combine several pieces into one, add mounting features or fix a weak point that keeps failing.
Common Uses
Motorsports and Race Shops
Custom brackets, sensor and camera mounts, ducting, switch panels, wiring clips and harness guides.
Manufacturing and Machine Shops
Drill guides, assembly fixtures, soft jaws, check gauges, part nests and tool holders.
Product Development
Enclosures and housings, handles and grips, covers and mechanical components for new products.
Inventors and Startups
First-version product designs and models ready for prototyping, testing and pitch meetings.
Repair and Replacement
Knobs, clips, covers, brackets and other components that are discontinued or hard to source.
How It Works
01 Discovery
We review your idea, sketches, photos or existing part and talk through function, size, loads, environment and budget.
02 Design
We build a 3D CAD model optimized for 3D printing, with the right wall thickness, tolerances and print orientation.
03 Review and Refine
You review the design, and we make revisions until it matches exactly what you need.
04 Ready to Print
Your design moves straight into prototyping or production, and you receive the final STEP and STL files.
